A note on Job 13:23

I had misread this verse. It should read

For what to me are iniquities and sins?
My transgression and my sin, make me know.

I have always been in danger of equating the mystery of sin with the mystery of God. These are two separate issues. The mystery of sin may imply God. Original sin is one of the few doctrines that we have direct evidence for. Just look around. (Hint, nothing to do with sex or engendering, but nothing human is excluded from violence and exploitation and fear.) But the mystery of God does not need to imply sin. Job's words are addressed to God and therefore put both these problems on different footings.

Shades of multiple classes of infinities.
