Jeremiah 49

Jeremiah has a number of formulas in his forms of speech, even patterns into which any named location could be inserted. Like an organist who forms improvisations around rhythmic patterns, so these prophecies have patterned components. I notice them because of my use of a prediction algorithm for sequences of English words based on similar sequences of Hebrew words. Part of the algorithm makes a database of all the sequences so I should be able to analyse them frequencies when I am finished.

1 Concerning the children of Ammon, thus says Yahweh, Are there no children of Israel? Is there no possession for him?
Why does their king possess Gad and his people in his cities have their seat?
3e 4C 22
17
2 Therefore behold, days are coming, an oracle of Yahweh, and I will broadcast to Rabbah of the children of Ammon raising a shout of war, and it will be a desolate mound. And her daughters with fire will be charred.
And Israel will possess his possession, says Yahweh.

3 Howl, Heshbon, for devastated is Shambles. Cry out, O daughters of Rabbah. Wear sackcloth. Wail and rove by the fences,
for their king into exile will go, his priests and his nobility together.
3e 4C 32
16
4 Why do you boast in the valleys, your gushing valley, O turncoat daughter.
She trusts in her treasuries. Who comes to me?
3e 4B 17
13
5 Behold me, I will bring dread against you, an oracle of my Lord Yahweh of hosts, from all round about you.
And you will be banished, each before it, and there is no one collecting the vagrant.
3c 4B 25
16
6 And after such, I will turn the captivity of the children of Ammon, an oracle of Yahweh. 3d 3g 17
7 For Edom, thus says Yahweh of hosts, Is there no longer wisdom in Teman?
Has counsel perished from their children, their sprawling wisdom.
3d 4C 19
13
8 C Withdraw. About face. Deeply persist, inhabitants of Dedan,
for the misfortune of Esau I will bring upon him, the time when I visit him.
3d 4C 14
13
9 If grape-gatherers came to you, would they not leave a residue of grapes to glean?
If thieves in the night. would they destroy only enough for themselves?
3e 4B 13
12
10 But I, I have stripped Esau. I have uncovered his hidden places. And he will not be able to shroud himself.
Devastated his seed, and his kin, and his neighbours, and he is not.
3d 4B 21
14
11 Forsake your orphans. I, I keep alive.
And your widows, in me let them trust.
3e 4B 11
11
12 Because thus says Yahweh, Behold, whose judgment to imbibe was not of the cup, they will imbibe. And are you so innocent, that you will be exempt?
You will not be exempt, for you will imbibe.
3e 4C 31
9
13 B For by myself I have sworn, an oracle of Yahweh, that a desolation, a reproach, a desert, and a denial, will be Bozrah.
And all her cities will be deserts evermore.
3c 4C 27
13
14 A message I have heard from Yahweh, notification in the nations is sent,
Collect yourselves and come against her, and arise for war.
3e 4C 18
15
15 For behold, tiny I have made you among the nations.
You are despised in humanity.
3d 4A 11
5
16 Your tremor has allured you, the presumption of your heart, you who dwell in the clefts of the cliff, occupant of the high ground of a hillock.
Though lofty as an eagle your nest, from there I will bring you down, an oracle of Yahweh.
3e 4C 27
19
17 And Edom will become a desolation.
All who pass by her are desolate, and hiss over all her gashes.
3e 4C 8
17
18 As Sodom and Gomorrah and her neighbours were changed, says Yahweh,
no one will settle there, and no child of humanity will reside in her.
3c 4B 18
11
19 ~ Behold like a lion, it will come up from the pride of the Jordan, to a perennial home, for in a moment I will make him race from her. And who is the chosen that I may entrust to her?
For who is like me? And who will engage me? And who is this shepherd that can stand in my presence?
3e 4C 39
24
20 Therefore hear the counsel of Yahweh that he counseled to Edom, and his devices that he has devised for the inhabitants of Teman,
If the smallest of the flock will not shred them, without fail he will desolate their home for them.
3d 4C 29
20
21 From the rumbling of their fall, the earth quaked.
An outcry at the sea of reeds, her voice was heard.
3e 4B 10
10
22 Behold as an eagle he will come up, and dart and spread his wings over Bozrah,
and the heart of the valiant of Edom will be in that day like the heart of a woman in her anguish.
3e 4C 20
20
23 Beyond Damascus, Hamath is shamed, and Arpad, for a report of evil they heard. They soften.
In the sea, anxiety. It is not able to be quiet.
3d 4C 22
10
24 Slackened is Damascus. She faces about to withdraw, and nervousness holds her resolutely.
Anguish and pangs hold her fast, as if giving birth.
3c 4B 17
14
25 f How the city so praised is not forsaken,
the town of my joy.
3e 4B 8
5
26 Therefore her youths in their prime will fall in her plazas,
and all the men of battle will be bloodied in that day. An oracle of Yahweh of hosts.
3d 4C 13
22
27 And I will bring forth fire on the walls of Damascus.
And it will devour the citadels of Benhadad.

28 Of Kedar and of the kingdoms of Chatsor which Nebukadretsar king of Babel struck, thus says Yahweh,
Arise, ascend to Kedar, and devastate the children of the east.
3e 4C 27
14

29 Their tents and their flocks they will take. Their curtains and all their vessels and their camels they will bear for themselves.
And they will call for them, terror surrounding.
3c 4C 28
11

30 Withdraw, show much sympathy, deeply persist, inhabitants of Chatsor, an oracle of Yahweh,
for Nebukadretsar king of Babel has counseled concerning you, and devised over you a device.
3c 4C 20
26
31 B Arise, ascend to a nation at ease, sitting in trust, an oracle of Yahweh,
without portals or bars for it, dwelling alone.
3c 4B 18
15
32 And their camels will be for loot, and the tumult of their livestock as spoil. And I will sift them to every wind of the outskirt quarter.
And from all its thoroughfares I will bring their misfortune, an oracle of Yahweh.
3d 4C 31
15
33 And Chatsor will become the habitation of dragons, desolate for evermore.
No one will settle there and no child of humanity will reside in her.
3d 4A 15
11
34 The word of Yahweh that happened to Jeremiah the prophet concerning Elam,
in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying,
3c 4A 19
15
35 C Thus says Yahweh of hosts, Note me well, breaking the bow of Elam,
the beginning of their valour.
3e 4C 17
6
36 And I will bring to Elam four winds from the four extremes of the heavens, and will sift them to all these winds.
And there will not be the nation where the banished of Elam will not come.
3d 4B 31
16
37 For I will make Elam dismayed before their enemies, and before those who seek their cadaver, and I will bring evil over them with my fierce anger, an oracle of Yahweh.
And I will send the sword after them till I have consumed them.
3c 4C 38
18
38 And I will set up my throne in Elam.
And I will eliminate from there king and nobility, an oracle of Yahweh.
3d 4A 8
16
39 And it will be in the aftermath of the days, I will turn the captivity of Elam. An oracle of Yahweh. 3d 4B 21
